Within activity 1.4 of IEA PVPS Task 16, a benchmark of solar irradiance data derived from models based on evaluation of meteorological satellites imagery and numerical weather prediction or re-analysis models was conducted. Global Horizontal Irradiance and Direct Normal Irradiance are subject of the performance evaluation.
The benchmark includes ground data sets from more than 125 locations around the globe - creating a data network unique in its size and composition.
This webinar discusses the collected data set as well as the quality control, methodology and the results of the benchmark.
Agenda:
- Welcome and introduction to the benchmark - Birk Kraas, CSP Services
- IEA PVPS T16 Overview - Jan Remund, Meteotest
- Data set: Reference and Test data - Stefan Wilbert, DLR
- Quality control and data preparation - Adam Rasmus Jensen, DTU
